Dexter Jackson Wins! Masters Olympia

Dexter Jackson takes the 2012 Masters Olympia! Wow, what a great way to end a fantastic bodybuilding season. Lots of surprises and nail biting contests throughout 2012 that culminated in Miami Beach, FL with the Masters Olympia promoted by Jarka Lorie Schneider.

Starting with Pro Bikini, the beautiful India Paulino has proven once again that beauty and poise combined with feminine muscularity reigns supreme on the bikini stage. In Pro Figure, the word that best describes Candice Lewis is, 'PERFECT.' This was one of the toughest Pro Figure contests, but there was no doubt Lewis stood head and shoulders above her competition. And for Pro Fitness, Australian native Natalie Planes dominated this contest with not just a great physique, but also a riveting routine.

And now for the Big Boys! All men that competed last night were over 40 years old, with some in their sixties and one in his seventies! However, bodybuilding is still bodybuilding, where the most muscular combined with conditioning and balance will always prevail. With that being said, IFBB Pro Dexter Jackson brought his best package on stage since he turned Mr Olympia in 2008. Dexter not only brought the consistent look that earned him the nickname "the Blade", but he also showed up with an inexplicable 'WOW Factor' that's been missing of late. Be prepared to see this same package at the 2013 Arnold Classic.

Arguably, IFBB Pro Toney Freeman did not bring his best package to date, but for a man that competes a multitude of times throughout the world in one bodybuilding season, Freeman proved that age is just a number. Expect Freeman to continue to dominate the bodybuilding stage for many years to come.

Coming out of retirement and placing 3rd, IFBB Pro Dennis James proved that living the bodybuilding lifestyle allowed him to dust off the shorts and get back on stage in only a few short months. A Flex athlete and a role model throughout the world, James proved that it's mind over matter combined with discipline and grit as well as great genetics.

Placing 4th was IFBB Pro Eduard Nunn. Ed's a fantastic human being with nothing but harmony and graciousness that comes from his mind and sprit, and it showed in his performance last night. Tall and muscular, Nunn has been grappling with leg development this past year. But, no more. Nunn's quads shown through and through on stage. Coupled with a tiny waist and broad shoulders, Nunn could have placed 2nd or 3rd and no one would have complained.

Rounding out the top 5, IFBB Pro Ronny Rockel brought to Miami the package he's been known for in the past. SWOLE is the word I would use to describe the German native. Had he brought this package to the 2012 Mr Olympia stage, he would have placed a lot better.

In all, the 2012 Masters Olympia production was a great success due to Jarka's never ending love for the sport and a need to recognize bodybuilding heroes of the past. Jarka even managed to coax former bodybuilding legends Francis Benfatto, Samir Bannout, and  Ronnie Coleman to guest pose on stage.
